New Noise makes Noise for the Muppets' return to TV!

Robb Wenner @ New Noise in Nashville, TN provided Sound Design and Foley for a new variety show airing on the Disney Channel. This marks the return of the Muppets to television and, according to Wenner, "was a true honor to have a chance to work with some of the legends of the entertainment industry...Miss Piggy has not aged a bit and Animal still totally rocks!"

The Muppets have teamed up with the Disney Channel stars for an all-new variety show special. "Studio DC: Almost Live!" is set to make its bit debut on Sunday, August 3, 2008 at 8:00pm ET/PT (check your local listings for details). The half-hour variety show will feature special appearances by Miley Cyrus, Ashley Tisdale, Dylan & Cole Sprouse, Jonas Brothers, and the Muppets.

The special will feature singing and dancing, comedy sketches and the backstage antics. Highlights of the program include Miley Cyrus performing her hit song "GNO" with the help of the Electric Mayhem; Kermit the Frog and Ashley Tisdale performing "Bop to the Top" (from High School Musical); Miss Piggy's failing attempts to join Nick, Joe and Kevin for a musical number (posing as a long-lost Joanas Sister); Kermit and Gonzo join the cast of "The Suite Life" for a comedic skit; plus much more.

WONDERFUN, Inc. a production company based in Hollywood, California, has engaged Robb Wenner  and NewNoise to create original musical settings, theme song and audio post production work for a DVD series titled “Bop Along with the Bop-A-Lots”.

The show is designed for children from birth through kindergarten age using music, motion capture, computer animated characters, dance and photographic imagery. It starts with familiar children’s songs that are then set to musical styles of many world cultures and styles of American music to which the animated characters dance with appropriate movements. Wenner recently assisted in the “motion capture” shooting for the Bop-A-Lots DVD that took place in the Henson Studios in Los Angeles.

Independent filmmaker, Stephen Vittoria , of Los Angeles hired Wenner to create the sound design and audio post production editing for a documentary feature film, “ONE BRIGHT SHINING MOMENT – The Forgotten Summer of George McGovern”, about the life and presidential campaign of Senator George McGovern. The film was premiered at the Hamptons Int’l Film Festival  in Long Island (NY) in October. It is also scheduled at the Sarasota Film Festival Festival in February. The film features Gloria Steinem, Warren Beatty, Dick Gregory, Gore Vidal, Ron Kovic, Howard Zinn, Gary Hart, Frank Mankiewicz, Jim Bouton, and George McGovern.

Wenner recently provided sound design and mixing services for a series of TV spots for ServPro via Buntin Advertising and Wolf Music in Nashville and Audio Branding projects for Princess Cruise Lines via DeepImage in Los Angeles.

New Noise recently provided sound design and sfx editing for 30+ episodes of “Jim Henson’s ANIMAL JAM” for the Discovery Kids network and TLC.

Robb Wenner, Chief Noisemaker at New Noise worked in tandem with Dino Herrmann of CineHyte/Sculptured Music in Los Angeles to provide the shows a “cartoony” and humorous sound effects track.

Sound effects and Sound Design elements were created by Wenner in Nashville and uploaded to secure FTP sites and then retrieved in L.A. for Herrmann to mix with the Dialog and Music. Quicktime movies for all half-hour shows were sent out on DVD-R. Both facilities utilize Digidesign Pro Tools systems, so session and file info could be shared back and forth without any problems. Use of DigiDelivery was also an added delivery resource. Check your local listings for show times.
